Weekend Results 14/ 15th AprilOn Saturday passed, Faughan Valley held a foursomes two man stableford team event, with Glenn Curran and Glenn Hinds taking first spot with 42 points playing off a combined handicap of 15. In second spot with 38 points playing off a combined handicap of 14 was Barry Reilly and Tony P Griffiths and in third spot playing off a combined handicap of 14 was Thomas Parkhill and Barney O'Connor with 37 points.
On Sunday there was a good turn out for the re-scheduled Newbuildings Cricket Club Classic, which was played off the forward tees. Results for the society golfers are in first spot Dee Dunn with 43 points playing off 22, in second spot was Jordan Dunn with 42 points and one point behind was David Culbert with 41 points. Nearest the pin was won by Uel McIvor and the Longest Drive winner was Glenn Curran, the front and back nine was won by City of Derry golfers Eugene Hillick with 22 points and Wesley Ferguson with 24 points. In the main competition in first spot was 21 handicapper Scott Somers with 47 points in second spot was 19 handicapper David Hughes from City of Derry with 46 points, with Lee Totton taking third place with 45 points playing off 14. The team event went to Wesley Ferguson, Eugene Hillick, David Hughes and Keith Hughes with a 103 points. The Committee of the cricket club would like to thank all that took part with a thanks also to all the sponsors.
Next week on Saturday 21st we are hosting a open Strokeplay competition, whilst on Sunday 22nd we have an Open Stableford Competition, and reminder to all members that the entry sheets for the singles and doubles are now posted on the notice board.
