Weekly Results 10th September - 16th SeptemberOn Saturday Faughan Valley held our Lady Captains Charity Day with all proceeds going to Friends of the Cancer Centre. The lady Captain on behalf of Faughan Valley would like to thank all that took part and gave their time to make it yet another success for a well worthy charity with a cheque of eight hundred pounds being handed over to the Charity.
The results of the day: In the ladies competition 27 handicapper Marion Sayers took first spot well ahead of the rest of the field with 42 points. Second and third spot was decided on a BOT between 18 handicapper Marion Robb mad 20 handicapper Loren Smallwood's both scoring 34 points, with Eileen taking second spot. The front nine was won by one of our visitors, Brenda Chauhan of City of Derry with 18 points, and our Lady Captain Kathleen Cooke took the back nine with 20 points. Kathleen was also was the winner of the Nearest the Pin prize, whilst Nadine Lynch took the Longest Drive.
In the men's competition the winner was 18 handicapper Nail McTaggart with 38 points, Paul Duffy took second spot with 36 points playing off a handicap of 5, and in third spot was John Huw Cleghorn with 35 points. The Juvenile prize went to 8 handicapper Shane McGahon with 35 points, with the winner of the front nine going to Damien Murphy with 20 points, and Patrick Carton taking the back nine with 21 points.
On Sunday the Two man scramble was cancelled due to numbers, and substituting it with an open stableford competition. 14 handicapper Edwin Gallagher took first spot from 23 handicapper Eoghan Brolly on a BOT both carding 40 points, and in third spot was Shane McGahon with 39 points playing off a handicap of 8.
In the midweek competition the winner was Glenn Curran with a score of 35 playing off a Handicap of 9, in second spot was Ryan Godfrey with 34 points playing off 11, and 13 handicapper Lee Totton took third spot with 33 points.
This weekend we are hosting on Saturday our monthly medal competition, whilst on Sunday we have an Open Stableford Competition.
